About Us

Our mission at Readers Ambassadors is to support children and adults with reading disorders, such as dyslexia, by helping them strengthen their reading and literacy skills. We also provide free English tutoring to individuals from underserved backgrounds and those who speak English as a second language, helping them build the communication skills they need for school, work, and everyday life.

This mission is made possible by our 20+ active volunteers, who generously dedicate their time to supporting others, as well as our partners who share our vision. Ultimately, we hope to build a community where more people are inspired to volunteer, even in small ways, to support individuals with reading disorders and non-native English speakers so they can access greater opportunities in the future.

Who We Are

While volunteering at a homeless shelter two years ago, our founder saw firsthand how students with dyslexia and non-native speakers often struggled in school. They struggled comprehending not only with books, but also questions in math and science. This led many students to fall fell behind, repeat grades, or become misunderstood despite being capable learners. All of this raised the question:

How can we make reading support more accessible?

Founded in 2025 by Hamden Hall Country Day School student Daniel Park, Readers Ambassadors is dedicated to answering that question by working directly with students with reading disorders and non-native English speakers. By listening to their experiences and understanding their individual challenges, we are able to continually adapt our approach and identify what works best for each learner.
